Baffour Awuah, Adwoa Sarfo faces Parliament’s Appointment Committee

Accra, Feb.17 GNA- The Appointment Committee of Parliament would continue its sitting today to vet more of President Akufo-Addo’s nominees for ministerial roles.

Mr Ignatius Baffour Awuah and Sarah Adwoa Sarfo, Ministers Designate for Employment and Labour Relations and Gender, Children and Social Protection, respectively, are expected to appear before the Committee for vetting.

The two nominees who have been renominated by the President were persons who held ministerial appointments in his first term in office.

The first nominee to appear before the Committee would be Mr Baffour Awuah former Minister Employment and Labour Relations and Member of Parliament (MP) for Sunyani West.

The nominee who has been renominated for the same ministerial portfolio is expected to answer questions on the unemployment situation and labour fronts in the country.

Also, Ms Adwoa Sarfo, former Deputy Majority Leader and Minister of State-in-Charge of Procurement in the first term of President Akufo-Addo’s administration, has now been moved to the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

The nominee who is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dome Kwabenya is expected to answer questions relating to the school feeding programme, streetism, social protection programmes, gender rights among others.
